Madeleine Fischer
As the Administrative Coordinator, Mad tends to Outright’s everyday organizational needs and keeps this queer office running smoothly. Supporting a bustling and animated team of staff and volunteers, thoughtfully stewarding a network of donors and supporters, and gracefully juggling the administrative details of a fast-paced hybrid workplace, she turns the gears behind the scenes to keep Outright’s work grooving.
Mad has a real love for the nitty-gritty, shiny, and glittery details that keep systems and spaces in tip-top shape! In practicing mindful stewardship of people and places, she aims for a balance of function and grace. A natural connector, relationship-builder, and cheerleader, Mad delights in the challenge of nestling odd-shaped and quirky parts into a constantly evolving whole.
Mad earned a BA in Creative Writing and Education at Warren Wilson College, served as a birth doula through AmeriCorps, and worked at a farm-based therapeutic community supporting people with mental illness. She is currently on the board of the nonprofit Vermont Access to Reproductive Freedom. Her background reflects her passion for bringing creativity, autonomy, and dignity to human experiences.
Mad’s perfect day involves sunrise stretching, river swimming and woods walking with her dog, a garden party with a pizza + pie theme, kitchen time with her partner, an evening of reading and cat cuddles.
