2025-2030 Strategic Plan

GOAL 1

Cultivate Outright as an irresistible organization that sustains, supports, and champions its community.

Objectives:

  1. Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse and representative team of staff aligned with our values. Develop a 2-3 year hiring plan moving forward.

  2. Bolster sound and transparent financial management by building secure and reliable systems to meet our mission.

  3. Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, representative, and engaged base of program and general volunteers who show up in support of LGBTQ+ youth.

  4. Assess and implement organization-wide governance and infrastructure that most align with our strategic goals.

GOAL 2

Evaluate the impact of our program offerings and innovate in response to youth priorities and the political moment.

  1. Ensure robust youth engagement throughout Camp Sunrise development.

  2. Align organizational program strategies with youth priorities.

  3. Create and apply an organization-wide plan for emergence; practice and iterate the emergence plan in subsequent years.

  4. Use 3 years of comparable data to assess impact of youth, family, and transforming programs by September 2025. Make a programmatic plan for all programs by the end of 2025.

GOAL 3

Design, enhance, and implement sustainable strategies that integrate youth into all aspects of Outright’s work.

  1. Create an interdisciplinary working group that will establish a plan.

  2. Create pathways for youth-informed and youth-led resource allocation to implement in 2026.

  3. Implement identified strategies and periodically evaluate their impact and efficacy.

GOAL 4

Assess and respond to the movement landscape, identifying Outright’s positionality on a local, state, regional, and national level.

    1. Determine the scope of programmatic priorities on local, state, regional, and national levels.

    2. Build intentional partnerships in the context of Outright's changing relationship with power and privilege (positionality).

    3. Intentionally share resources with movement partners that we hold deep collaboration with and seek opportunities to expand our partnerships.

    4. With partners, drive policy change, elevate best practices, and support legislation that build hope, equity, and power for all youth.
