Get ready for an unforgettable night of cosmic queer magic at the 2025 Queer Youth Prom on Saturday, May 24th, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM! The theme of the evening is Cosmic Jubilee: think planets, galaxies, and celestial vibes. The stars will align for a night full of dazzling outfits, fabulous memories, and lots of queer joy!
Prom is free. Space is limited to 150 youth. If you have registered for Prom, we will reach out by Friday, May 2 to confirm your spot!
This year, instead of our usual action-packed Queer and Allied Youth Summit, we’re leaning into queer joy and putting all our energy into prom! This year we recognize the increased need from LGBTQ+ youth to focus on connection and joy, in addition to our other statewide events that center leadership and organizing. In response, we shifted our traditional Queer and Allied Youth Summit to solely center the beloved Queer Prom! This shift allows us to highlight what youth love most from previous years about this big, queer end-of-year celebration.
Come as your most fabulous self as we celebrate the amazing accomplishments of GSAs, youth organizers, youth-led campaigns, and of course DANCE!
When: Saturday, May 24th, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Where: The event will take place at Camp Sunrise, Outright’s beautiful new lakefront property in Benson, VT. We’re transforming the lodge into a celestial ballroom, with space for everyone to shine!
Ages: This is a safe and welcoming space for all LGBTQ+ and allied youth, ages 13 to 19.
Theme: The theme this year is Cosmic Jubilee! Think stars, planets, galaxies, and all things sparkling and galactic. Feel free to dress in your most celestial outfits—shiny, glittery, or out-of-this-world!
Transportation: Outright is providing transportation support! See the FAQ below for details.
Safety and accessibility: All activities will take place in and around the wheelchair-accessible lodge. All attendees will be asked to test for COVID or wear a mask. For COVID policies and more accessibility information, scroll down to our FAQ!
Getting Ready Party: From 3 - 4 pm we will have a getting-ready party together, with fun activities and lots of glitter! We’ll supply some makeup, nail polish, and fab clothes from our gender affirming closet. Get ready together, play games, and enjoy a gallery walk showcasing the amazing things GSAs across the state accomplished using their GSA Seed Funding.
Food: Delicious, inclusive finger foods will be provided for all attendees! There will be something for everyone, including vegan and gluten-free options. The food will be available throughout the event, so no one will go hungry as they dance the night away. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know on your registration form so we can plan to accommodate your needs!
Music: A live DJ will keep the dance floor pumping with upbeat hits! Expect a perfect blend of music to keep the party going - and yes, you can request your faves!
Prom T-Shirt: All attendees will receive a fabulous youth-designed Prom t-shirt! Use it to complete your prom ‘fit, get it signed by all your pals, or just take it home to remember the night.
This will be a night to remember, filled with friendship, fun, and belonging. Whether you’re looking to dance under the stars, make new friends, or simply celebrate who you are, the 2025 Queer Prom is the place to be!
Grab your best cosmic outfit and get ready to dance the night away at the most magical queer event of the year!
See you on Saturday, May 24th, ready to shine!
Prom is open to LGBTQ+ and allied youth ages 13-19.
Prom attendees MUST BE REGISTERED to attend. Registration is closed as of Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Yes! We want to make sure everyone has a chance to attend, so buses will be available for those who need transportation to and from the event. Let us know on your registration form if you need transportation. We will plan a route for a bus to pick up and drop off everyone who needs it within a half hour drive from home, at a pre-determined location and time. We will be in touch via email to arrange transportation details closer to the date.
Parents and caregivers who are dropping off youth at Prom: there will NOT be parking available at Camp Sunrise during the event! For folks who would like to stay nearby to pick up youth after Prom, we can recommend some excellent places to stop and eat in town.
All participants are encouraged to test for COVID on arrival, and tests will be available onsite. Once you’ve tested negative, you’re welcome to remove your mask and dance!
In the event anyone at the event tests positive for COVID, we’ll have a quarantine space available.
If you do not wish to take a COVID test, we will ask that you remain masked for the duration of the event, except while eating or drinking.
