Lechelle is a fierce advocate for LGBTQ+ youth, and she brings the sparkle to the Outright Board in her commitment to our mission and vision. She's known for her dynamic approach and heartfelt dedication to making the world a better place. Her creative spirit, coupled with her big energy to rally people for a cause, is precisely the support LGBTQ+ youth need, a testament to someone truly having their back.
At Hunger Free Vermont, Lechelle is in the thick of things, working hands-on with community members and partners to tackle the critical issues of hunger and food insecurity.
When she's not at Hunger Free Vermont, you'll find Lechelle channeling her expertise as an Equity Consultant with The Creative Discourse. Her work here isn't just about theories; it's about creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, challenging the oppressive norms rooted in white supremacy and baked into our systems and culture. - Yeah, she is a force for change!
Lechelle's journey includes a chapter as a Board Co-Chair at the Pride Center of Vermont. There, she was actively involved in making things happen, from committee work to pushing for strategic plans that put equity and inclusivity at the forefront. Also, she serves on the Board of Directors for Vermont International Film Festival, is on the Farm to Plate Network’s Steering Committee.
Lechelle attended Kennesaw State University studying Theatre and Performance Studies with a Concentration in Performance Art and a Minor in Film Studies. She has always been passionate about the arts, volunteering to help with local children's theater in Marietta and doing set work around Atlanta while studying at university.
Above all, Lechelle is committed to her community and empowering the next generation. Her experience as someone who understands the challenges of living proudly in the beautiful complexity of intersectionality brings to the Outright Board her professional skills and her genuine, unwavering enthusiasm for making a positive impact in the lives of others.
In her free time, Lechelle engages in community building, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
