About The Pull

The Fire Truck Pull is not just the biggest fundraiser of the year for Outright Vermont - it’s our chance to show LGBTQ+ youth that we pull with them, each and every day.

The fundraising portion of this event is a peer-to-peer fundraiser. Create or join a team, let your community know why you’re Pulling, and ask them to support your Pull. Your team can have as many members as you like fundraising on behalf of your team. Every dollar you raise counts towards your team’s total - and helps to make all of our work with, for, and by youth possible. We need to raise $150,000 to ensure youth across Vermont are connected, celebrated, and free to imagine and realize the world they deserve. 

How do I get started

You can either choose either 12 people (Sporty Class) or as many teammates as you’d like (Spirit Class) for your Pull Team. Once your team’s combined total amount raised passes $3,000, you are officially on the list for Pull Day! Your team will pull a fully-loaded fire truck up the top block of Church Street in Burlington. You can either choose either 12 people (Sporty Class) or as many teammates as you’d like (Spirit Class) for your Pull Team. Costumes are highly encouraged, as is all the team spirit and queer joy you can muster!

Qualifying teams compete for the coveted Golden Fire Truck Awards (and bragging rights!) for: Fastest Pull in Sporty Class, Fastest Pull in Spirit Class, Most $$ Raised, Best Costumes, Fan Favorites – and maybe a few more!

Watch this space for the fundraising “starting line” for the next Fire Truck Pull! Fundraising continues through the morning of the Pull. If you’re planning to Pull live at the event, note that your team will need to meet the $3,000 minimum before the cutoff date several days before the live Pull.

By rallying the support of your friends and family, you’re expanding our reach to bring more magic to youth in every corner of the state. Together, we can make sure youth know we are all right here, pulling with them. Heck yeah!

WHAT IS THE FIRE TRUCK PULL?

Once your team raises a minimum of $3,000, you are officially entered into the live event on Saturday, September 30! At high noon, teams pull a fully-loaded fire truck up the top block of Church Street in Burlington. Costumes are highly encouraged, as is all the team spirit and queer joy you can muster!

WHO CAN COMPETE?
You compete as a team. You can have as many members as you like working together to meet the team's collective fundraising goal. Once your team's total amount raised hits $3,000, you can choose either 12 people (Sporty Class) or as many teammates as you'd like (Spirit Class) to pull the fully-loaded fire truck up Church Street in Burlington! We are here to support all folks' ability to be able to participate - let us know how we can help.

WHEN IS THE PULL?
Fundraising is open NOW through the morning of the Fire Truck Pull on Saturday 9/30. You must reach your $3,000 minimum by Wednesday, 9/23 so we can finalize logistics, so fire up those networks.
