Eliza Davison
As Education and Leadership Coordinator, Eliza collaboratively develops and implements personalized educational opportunities for youth serving professionals, anchoring long-term educational partnerships with schools, districts, and organizations. They also support LGBTQ+ youth leaders in accessing leadership opportunities, statewide events, direct action campaigns, and more! Eliza feels that queer and trans youth hold the key to a more connected and sustainable world for all people. They teach to build compassion and deep understanding, guiding individuals and groups towards radically and unapologetically affirming LGBTQ+ youth self-determination and joy.
Eliza has more than a decade of experience in education, including adult learning as well as school- and community-based programming for youth through their teens in the Pacific Northwest and New England. After earning their Master’s in Social work from the University of Washington in 2016, Eliza began working as a Community Outreach Educator at Planned Parenthood. There they facilitated Teen Council, training youth to be peer educators and advocates on a local, state, and national scale. Through this work Eliza became a lifelong believer in the model of peer education, removing traditional power structures and restoring to youth the autonomy to direct their own learning. Eliza then spent three years developing and facilitating adult learning content at the Transgender Training Institute, guiding individuals and groups towards gender-affirming behaviors, attitudes, and beliefs.
Eliza became part of Outright’s community as a cabin counselor at Camp Outright in 2023. There, their connections with staff and campers expanded their ability to imagine a better, safer, more joyful future. In 2024, Eliza relocated to Vermont to become a full-time staff member at Outright and pursue their reignited desire to collaborate, share resources, and fight for liberation alongside LGBTQ+ youth.
Along with teaching and learning, Eliza loves podcasts and science fiction novels. They can often be found playing the board game Wingspan with their partner and friends, cuddling their pitbull Birdie, or swimming in water of all kinds, all temperatures, and all times of year!
