Corey Selover

Board Member At Large — she/her

As a queer, trans woman, Corey can think of nothing more important than helping queer youth to feel safe, seen, powerful, and joyful. She first started volunteering at Camp Outright in 2021, and in her time working at camp, Corey has seen firsthand the transformative empowerment that Outright helps to foster for queer and trans youth in Vermont. She thinks it's just the best, most magical thing. As a member of the board, Corey dreams of helping Outright to serve more youth, more often, and with even more joy.

Corey brings experience working with youth, families, and educators to her position on the board. She was a classroom teacher for one year at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, then for six years at the Red Cedar School in Bristol, VT. In her time as an educator, Corey discovered that all youth benefit from positive queer role models - and also that youth have a great deal more wisdom, expertise, and intuition than adults usually give them credit for.

She has since shifted her efforts from the classroom to video game development, and is in the thick of working on her latest project, a queer farming game in space. The game shows players that capitalism can’t save us - and that we can build true resilience through community.

In her free time, Corey loves playing music with her two bands, practicing Aikido, and playing tug-of-war with her dog, Marty. While she’s volunteering at Camp Outright, Corey goes by the names Popcorn, Dragon, or Popcorn Dragon, depending on the day.
