Amanda Wong

Co-Chair — she/her

Amanda is ready for a Vermont where queer and trans youth, especially QTBIPOC youth, have space to be themselves and breathe freely! She is an Outright superfan and is proud to be part of an organization working to make it better on every level across the whole state.

As a board co-chair, Amanda leads with an awareness that no single person can, or should, lead alone. No one knows everything. Each of us knows something, and together we know a lot! Amanda brings a multitude of superpowers to the Board. Her enthusiasm and witty humor brighten the blandest moments, and her attention to detail is put to use in precise and thoughtful decision-making – and in remembering everyone’s favorite snacks.

Outright stands out to Amanda for their commitment to transparency, accountability, community and for going above and beyond to do this work with queer and trans youth leading the way. She is inspired by an organizational culture of asking critical questions to constantly learn and grow – as individuals, as an organization, and as part of a broader community.

In her role as an Assistant Dean of Pluralism and Leadership at Dartmouth College, Amanda is committed to fostering warm, welcoming environments for the most marginalized students. Making space for all students to thrive brings her into incredible alignment with Outright's mission.

When she’s not making wisecracks and pulling around fire trucks in a tutu, Amanda enjoys wearing wool socks and going on foodventures. She has yet to meet a noodle she didn't like.
