Senior Director of Advocacy and Land Stewardship — she/her

As the Senior Director of Advocacy and Land Stewardship, Amanda's leadership ensures Outright leads boldly in policy and advocacy — not just reacting to the moment, but shaping it. And with the incredible opportunity of Camp Sunrise now part of our future, Amanda stewards the land with care and vision to hold all the big queer dreams of this generation of young people, and the next.

As a part of the Senior Leadership team, Amanda shares in the responsibility for ensuring that our Strategic Plan, Theory of Change, and Queer Ethic and Guiding Principles are aligned in the implementation of strategies to accomplish our vision and mission. Amanda supports Outright’s Power team that puts LGBTQ+ youth front and center in reshaping the systems that affect them.

Amanda is a fearless advocate, and her knack for being on top of all the latest research on issues affecting LGBTQ+ youth makes her a trusted presenter at statewide events and conferences, and a valued thought partner for leaders and decision-makers across the state.

Amanda holds a BA in Political Science & Gender Studies, as well as a Public Health Equity Graduate Certificate with an LGBTQ+ Youth Health Equity concentration, both earned at St. Michael’s College. Her professional background is in domestic and sexual violence response work, mainly supporting youth survivors and providing prevention education. Learning, teaching, and practicing prevention and intervention strategies reflecting LGBTQ+ youth's realities led Amanda to Outright!

In her free time, Amanda loves making things from scratch. One of her fave things to make is bread - she has a sourdough starter that's been bubbling for 100 years!
