The Story: This campaign will take us on a journey to the magical land of Shimmerville! Shimmerville is a quiet coastal town - except for every 24 years when the sea dragon and the sky dragon cross paths over the town! Shimmerville hosts an enormous celebration of this momentous celestial phenomenon, with food and fairs and artisans and more. Join our ragtag team, who has arrived in town to enjoy the massive festival - and to keep an eye out for any problems that need solving or threats that need quashing.

FAQs:

  • What is D&D? D&D (short for Dungeons & Dragons) is a creative role-playing game, where you make a character, explore a magical world, and adventure together with your fellow players. D&D games - also called “campaigns” - can be months or years long. Our D&D mini-campaign is four sessions long!
  • Who is running the game? The game is run by DM Clove! The DM, or “Dungeon Master,” is the person who creates the adventures and makes sure all the players are having fun. The game is supported by trained adult staff and volunteers from Outright’s Tween Group.
  • What if I’ve never played D&D before? Great! This is the perfect place to learn. The first week will get you oriented to the game, explain how it works, and help you make your character. Then we’ll continue learning more as we go together through the mini campaign in the next weeks!
  • I can’t make it to all the weeks. Can I still join? It’s okay to miss a week! And, it’s helpful to tell Amelia (amelia@outrightvt.org) if you’re going to miss a week so DM Clove can plan.
  • What if I’m not 10-12 years old? This D&D campaign is especially for youth ages 10-12! If you are older or younger, please reach out to Amelia (amelia@outrightvt.org) to check in before joining.
