Movie Night at Outright: Soul
Join us at Outright's Burlington youth space on Monday, June 22 from 6 - 8 pm for a cozy movie night celebrating Pride Month and Juneteenth!

We’ll watch the movie Soul. This award-winning Disney and Pixar animated film is a celebration of Black creativity, purpose, and relationships. Outright will provide delicious snacks and plenty of comfy, flexible seating in our youth space.
Community members of all ages and identities are welcome to join us for this event. We especially want to create space for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC youth to be surrounded by welcoming, joyful community!
This event marks the launch of a new film and dialogue series at Outright — one rooted in storytelling, shared space, community care, and the belief that gathering together matters. We're excited to continue creating opportunities for reflection, learning, joy, and connection through future screenings and conversations. Stay tuned for the next movie night!
Why
Through film, conversation, and community, we hope to create an environment where young people feel seen, connected, affirmed, and supported in exploring who they are, what brings them joy, and what helps them imagine hopeful futures.
At a time when gathering in person feels especially meaningful, we want to create opportunities for Queer and Trans youth, BIPOC communities, artists, organizers, caregivers, and community members to connect, reflect, and share space together.
We also hope this event opens the door for many more opportunities to gather in shared space at Outright. We can't wait to continue watching, learning, and building community together.
Why Soul, and Why Juneteenth
Juneteenth is a time to celebrate Black freedom, creativity, resilience, and community. It is also an opportunity to gather together, reflect on the ongoing work of liberation, and honor the many ways Black stories shape our collective understanding of ourselves and the world around us! We love this movie and we think you will too.
Where
We’re excited to host this event at our vibrant Outright youth space! The address is 241 N Winooski Ave, Burlington VT.
Accessibility: Our youth space is wheelchair accessible. COVID tests, masks, earplugs, and fidget toys will all be available, and we will offer a quiet space for folks who need a break from all the excitement. For other accessibility needs, please email eliza@outrightvt.org.
Some parking is available in our lot, and there is street parking in the nearby neighborhood. We encourage carpooling, public transportation, biking or walking if you can!
We feel deeply grateful to have a youth and community space to call home. We hope this screening helps open the door for more young people, organizers, artists, movement workers, and community members to experience Outright’s youth space as somewhere they can gather, connect, create, organize, and belong.

Who
This event is for everyone, and especially for LGBTQ+ youth and Black and Brown youth. Families, caregivers, educators, and community members looking for space to gather, connect, reflect, and be together are all welcome!
Outright is a place where LGBTQ+ youth are welcomed, affirmed, and supported in being their full selves.
Whether you come to watch a great film, meet new people, reflect on the themes of the movie, or simply spend time together in community, we hope this evening offers space for connection, joy, imagination, and belonging.
