Honoring Brenda Churchill
A fierce advocate, a compassionate leader, and an irreplaceable member of our community, Brenda embodied what it means to live your truth and fight like hell to ensure others could do the same.
I decided to be a Youth Organizer because I want to take an active role in creating change in my communities, locally and statewide. I believe putting youth at the front of conversations concerning topics that affect them is crucial in creating spaces and movements that benefit us all.
I hope to work with my fellow Youth Organizers to bring support to queer and transgender youth, as well as bring awareness to—and begin to dismantle—the oppression and discrimination we face.
Three things our liberated future must include:
An openness from adults to honestly engage with youth and value their input
A seat for everyone at the table
Queer joy!
