Annabella

she/her | First Year Youth Organizer

On some level being trans means that I have to care about queer issues, but beyond that I just find them genuinely interesting. Aside from the queer aspect, I have just always wanted to help people, and I have been inclined to do so through grass roots organizing.

As an Outright Youth Organizer my main goal is that I can make concrete change in my communities; both my local community at school and the community created by Outright overall.

I also really hope to gain useful experience through the program in public speaking, outreach, and organizing events and initiatives.

Finally, I hope to meet new and interesting people; so far everyone I've interacted with through Outright, both staff and other teens at their events, have been wonderful. I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to work more closely with and better get to know my community.

Three things our liberated future must include:

  • Easily accessible healthcare for all people

  • Full acceptance for all queer people so that we can simply live our lives without being perceived as a threat

  • Intersectional justice for people of color, disabled people, queer people, working class people, and all other oppressed groups within our current society
