First Year Youth Organizer

My first experience with Outright was Queer Youth Summit, which was the largest event of queer joy I’d ever attended. It was the first time I heard the words “queer joy”. This was something I wanted to be a part of. I wanted to share queer joy and share spaces of fun, comfort, and care for youth.

As a Youth Organizer, I hope to share queer joy, bond with other youth, plan (and attend) fun events, and have meaningful conversations with people.

Our liberated future must include:

  • Knowledge that clothing and gender are separate.

  • Comfort, compassion, and care to youth, despite their appearance or sexual orientation.

  • The freedom to let youth be youth, in all their curiosity and joy and play.
