Outright Youth Address the Governor at LGBTQ Visibility Day

Outright Youth Meet with Governor Douglas30 Queer and Allied youth from GSAs across the state led the largest contingent at the 2010 LGBTQ Visibility Day meeting with Governor Douglas. The meeting last Friday was at the Statehouse in Montpelier and included youth from 5 Vermont school GSAs. Addressing Governor Douglas personally was Shepherd Lantz who told the Governor, “I go to a public high school and I see bullying almost every single day. I hope you will join Outright, Youth and the Vermont Community as we work to promote mandated anti-bullying training in Vermont schools.”

Outright Youth Board member Tim Willliams also spoke and urged the governor to support gender-neutral bathrooms in all state-owned facilities.

Visibility Day 2010 was organized in partnership by RU12, Outright Vermont, Vermont CARES, Vermont Freedom to Marry, and the Samara Foundation with support from VT TransAction, Pride VT, and the LGBT Alliance of VT Law School.
